Facebook Post from James Geatens to Amy Fortenberry Lippincott

Facebook Post from James Geatens to Amy Fortenberry Lippincott: July 30, 2013 near Austin, TX. I look forward to meeting you tomorrow. I think everyone should know that you are the kind of Realtor who fights for the little guy too. I’ve said it before, that my home is no flagship, but you knew I was struggling and you never made me feel like I was anything less than your most important client. Thanks for making this happen, even if it wasn’t easy and even if I’m not walking away with full pockets, I’m still walking away with a sold house in a time when so many people aren’t able to. I owe so much of that to you. Thanks […]

Officials discuss Grand Parkway’s influence on Cy-Fair

Segment E of the Grand Parkway is poised to open in December, connecting Cypress and Katy by a 15-mile toll road and bringing with it potential residential, commercial and job growth. During the Nov. 7 Cy-Fair Houston Chamber mobility forum, officials discussed the affect the toll road could have in the Cypress area, comparing it with the rapid growth that occurred after Segment D opened in the mid-1990s in Katy and Fort Bend County. “We’re looking at a game changer here with the Grand Parkway coming in,” said Peter Houghton, chairman of the West Houston Association. The Cypress area should expect to have much growth that occurs in the years following the opening of the Grand Parkway, which is similar […]

Why today’s homebuyer needs a real estate agent more than ever

Last summer I got an email from a local real estate attorney who wanted to buy a house. He’d just gotten engaged and wanted to save some money by representing himself. This attorney wanted to do all the work an agent would do to find and buy his first home, and get paid a commission for his work. I explained to him that the commission is payable to the listing agent who agrees to pay a portion of it to the Realtor representing a buyer. Usually, if there’s no buyer’s agent, the seller’s agent gets the entire commission. Some agents will accept a reduced commission for representing both parties. The seller saves some money that way. Sometimes the savings get […]

4 Things Real Estate Agents Want You to Know

By Shayla Mars Real estate agents can be the saving grace one needs in buying or selling a home. If you have done either one of these things, you know how stressful it can get. It is the agent’s job to get things done quickly and smoothly, but they could use a helping hand from you as well. Knowing just four simple things can help move along a sale or close a deal with ease. 1. Comment From A Valued Client!

Angela S. said, “Amy was the BEST. We had several glitches that were outside her and our control, but she went to bat for us and continuously kept us apprised with what was going on–both with the buyers of our old home and sellers of our new home. Our first buyer didn’t qualify last minute, and Amy said that she would find a new buyer as soon as possible–and less than a few weeks later she did! Then, when our bank messed up, she worked tirelessly to get people to respond, and she was calm when I was not. Amy responded, every time, quickly and with answers, and she never seemed put out with my questions or concerns. Her level […]
